About
We were having dinner when my mom received a phone call that would set her on a 20-year journey to uncover stories about the heroism of our late grandmother. I was in high school at the time, and this was decades before my mom was a celebrated, award-winning food writer.
It felt natural to contribute to this publication, being one of her grandchildren and having been trained as a graphic designer.
The book is available as a paperback on Amazon, as an ebook on Kindle, and at select stores worldwide.
Every Ounce of Courage
This photograph of my grandmother is incredible, and I wanted to preserve its glory while presenting the titles in an appropriate way.
Inspired by jazz records of the 60's and 70's, the design is a minimal B&W treatment with a stark use of yellow.
The use of yellow on B&W allows for greater legibility, especially in digital formats.
