I chose the theme "Head In The Clouds" for this edition of my portfolio as a way of poking fun at the wide range of ideas. You see, as a kid I dreamt of becoming both a Disney animator and an astronaut.
At the time, I didn't realize I was manifesting the person I am now — a craftsman and a visionary. I find the most joy when designing thoughtfully, playfully, and with meticulous attention to detail, engineered to work beautifully. The projects featured here are a representation of that.
When Instagram released a Twitter competitor named Threads, our website received 100x more traffic than ever before. How could it be that the social media giant decided to ship a new feed to the entire world while a completely separate software company (the one I worked for) owned and operated the Threads.com domain?
Millions of people looking for Threads.net ended up on our website, so I decided that we needed to create an extra obvious masthead with simple language that clarifies what we do, who it's for, and how it works.
